I'm sure you've heard of Kombucha, but you're wondering.... what is Jun?
Jun is a fermented drink made with green tea and raw honey. Unlike it's Kombucha sister culture, which is made with sugar, it is well adapted to cold weather and extreme temperature changes which makes it perfect for the ever fluctuating average New York City kitchen. It also offers many of the antibacterial and immune enhancing properties found in both green tea and honey, as well as a more subtle floral flavor with a beautiful hint of pollen refreshing to the palate. It is good for enhancing metabolism, providing probiotics to the digestive system, liver cleansing as well as rich in B-vitamins and antioxidants.
Some consider it the Mead or Champagne of the Kombucha family and I am grateful to have been gifted this very hard to find culture and be able to spread this nourishing and refreshing probiotic beverage through my travels! In a time when we should be less dependant on the sugar cane industry and bringing awareness to our local bee keepers Jun is slowly making its way to a kitchen near you!
This hands on class will demonstrate how you can make it at home, and included with the price you receive one Jun culture to take home ($25 value) with the cost of the class $40.
Tea and local honey can be purchased at Flower Power before or after the class.
